Emerging Leaders Program

MISSION The Arkansas Advanced Energy Association's (AAEA) Workforce Development mission is to create an equitable pipeline for advanced energy economy careers through comprehensive education and workforce development. We aim to empower diverse students and adults with access to equitable, quality, and family-sustaining jobs, provide employers with a diverse and highly qualified workforce pool, and collaborate with public and private partners to streamline offerings and leverage funding effectively. By fostering inclusivity and sustainability, we aim to build a thriving and resilient advanced energy sector for Arkansas.

VISION The AAEA Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is committed to nurturing the future leaders of the advanced energy sector. We offer extensive resources, mentorship, and opportunities for growth to support emerging professionals. Our mission is to integrate students and entry-level talent in an equitable career pipeline for the advanced energy economy.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Residency: Applicants must be residents of Arkansas or attending an Arkansas-based educational institution.

  2. Education Level: Applicants must be enrolled in an ongoing education process (community college, higher education institution,  training, apprenticeship, etc.) and have fewer than five years of experience in the advanced energy sector* 

  3. Commitment: Applicants must demonstrate a commitment or passion for pursuing a career in the advanced energy sector. 

Application Process

  1. Online Application: Complete the online application form available on the AAEA Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) website.

  2. Résumé Submission: Submit a current résumé highlighting relevant coursework, internships, or work experience.

  3. Personal Statement: Provide a personal statement (250 words) explaining your interest in the advanced energy sector and how participation in the ELP will support your career goals.

Selection Process

  1. Review: Applications will be reviewed by the AAEA ELP selection committee. 

  2. Notification: Successful applicants will be notified via email and provided with further instructions for program participation.

The selection process includes a review of applications by the AAE ELP selection committee, followed by interviews with selected candidates. Successful applicants will be notified via email.

Can I participate in the ELP if I am working full-time?

Yes, the ELP is designed to accommodate both students and working professionals. Program activities, such as webinars and networking events, are scheduled at various times to ensure accessibility.

Are there any costs associated with joining the ELP?

Yes, there is a $25 membership fee to join the ELP. This fee grants you access to a range of exclusive benefits, including industry-specific events, training programs, and networking opportunities. Additionally, as a member, you may receive discounts on event registration fees and other activities. Any costs associated with these events will be communicated to you in advance, ensuring transparency and allowing you to plan accordingly. The membership fee is a valuable investment in your professional growth within the advanced energy sector.
