Katie Laning Niebaum

Executive Director

Katie Laning Niebaum brings more than a dozen years of strategic communications, media relations and public affairs expertise from her leadership roles on Capitol Hill and at one of the nation’s largest business trade associations. As executive director of the Arkansas Advanced Energy Association and its educational affiliate, the Arkansas Advanced Energy Foundation, Niebaum leads efforts to promote Arkansas’s growing advanced energy industry. Previously, she spent more than five years at the National Restaurant Association, most recently serving as vice president of communications and media relations advancing policy and business priorities for the $780 billion restaurant and foodservice industry. Niebaum spent more than seven years in the office of U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln where she rose to communications director in 2008. In that capacity, she acted as a senior advisor, chief communications strategist and spokesperson. Niebaum is a Little Rock native and a graduate of the University of Virginia.
