Potential Routes for $2 Billion Transmission Line to be Discussed

LITTLE ROCK: Clean Line Energy Partners, a member of AAEA, has released a schedule of public meetings at seven locations across Arkansas from November 13-December 3 to discuss the company’s planned wind transmission project.

The 750-mile Plains and Eastern Clean Line will connect thousands of megawatts of clean energy generation from Western Oklahoma, Southwest Kansas and the Texas Panhandle with utilities and customers in Tennessee, Arkansas and other markets in the Mid-South and Southeast.

The Clean Line Open House meetings are scheduled in Van Buren, Clarksville, Russellville, Greenbrier, Searcy, Newport, Market Tree and Osceola beginning on Tuesday, November 13 through Monday, December 3.

Sponsored solely by Clean Line Energy, the meetings will feature project representatives who will provide information and answer any questions regarding the planed transmission line and its impact on local economies.

Last September, Clean Line project received approval by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to begin negotiating transmission service agreements with potential customers of the transmission line project.

In response to the favorable FERC ruling, Steve Patterson, Executive Director of the AAEA said:  “Arkansas has become a key manufacturing state for the wind industry. Projects like the Plains & Eastern Clean Line will stimulate Arkansas’ clean energy industry while providing jobs, economic growth and a sustainable energy future for the state and the rest of the country.”
